Bradford Mercantile

Bradford Mercantile is a uniquely New England shop specializing in wares for the colonial and primitive home. Located in the historic Haile barn (affectionately called the yellow barn by friends and customers), the shop sits amongst where dairy cows used to be housed. Customers enter through the double front doors just as cows did for centuries.

While it has been over twenty years since the last cows called this barn home, people still come through the door and say, "The last time I was here, there were cows in here!" Instead of hay and the equipment used to milk cows you will find all sorts of wares for your colonial and primitive home decor.

Hutches and cupboards, wall decor and prints, lighting, curtains, rugs, tea towels and table runners, candles and tarts, handmade dolls and town pride pillows, florals, and much more to accessorize your home for every season await your visit. The shop is transformed prior to the start of each approaching season and each season brings with it many new needful things.

In addition to seasonal decor, many everyday staples fill the shop. They strive to help you make your home warm and cozy and to remind you of life lived in a simpler time. They also have a selection of edible goodies including the popular Vidalia Onion Relish, tomato preserves, apple and pear butter and dip mixes.

The shop focuses on decor for the colonial home, which encompasses not only the primitive style but also a more tradiotional Colonial look. There are also products that would blend into even a more modern home's design scheme. They pride themselves on being a shop that is wheelchair and stroller friendly, and there is also a wonderful back deck with "husband benches" for relaxing.
