As a not for profit organization, Columbus Credit Union's role is to provide services to their members, who are also th owners. Membership at this Credit Union is available regardless of residence or occupation.

When you open a share account with a $20 deposit, you are purchasing a share in the Credit Union, and become a voting member eligible to use its services. Membership at this Credit Union is available regardless of residence or occupation. The prime difference between a bank and a credit union is "one member, one vote," whether you have one million or one dollar saved, you have one vote. Members are encouraged to attend annual meeting, usually held in March.

On August 11, 2010, Columbus Credit Union and its members will celebrate 60 years as one of the East Bay's savings institutions.

The credit union's objective - "to promote thrift among members by giving them an opportunity to save money and obtain loans at reasonable rates" - still holds true today. As a not-for-profit organization, Columbus Credit Union's role is to provide services to our members.
